Few are the opportunities in modern life to ask the important questions.
Psychotherapy is one such opportunity. It provides a crucial space to identify and transform our suffering into greater openness and appreciation for ourselves and others.
I offer once and twice weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy to teens, adults, and elders. If you are seeking relief from emotional distress or troubling relationships, or simply desire a deeper awareness of your self and your mind, I want to hold space for your exploration.
You can read more about psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy here. I also recommend this article about the amount of time effective therapy takes, according to a number of studies.
I am a registered associate psychotherapist in the state of Oregon (R8129) under the supervision of Sarah Baird, PsyD (2094). I grew up in the greater Los Angeles area, and have lived abroad and in rural Georgia for a number of years before setting down roots in Portland.
For as long as I can remember, I have harbored a distinctive interest in the transformation of emotional and physical pain. A lover of language and expression, I earned degrees in philosophy and psychology, including a doctorate from the University of West Georgia. My dissertation looks at the Internet as a social and cultural engine for upending our speech, our relationship to needs and their satisfaction, our interpersonal relationships, and the creation and destruction of communities.
